Thank You for Your Support of the Waring Auction!

We are pleased to announce the winners of the Munich raffle, Emily Weissblum Smith and Roger Smith. Glückwünsche! Emily and Roger have won a trip to historic Munich, Germany including a two-night stay at the Hilton Hotel and dinner for two at a restaurant of their choice. Thanks to everyone who participated in the raffle. We wish our winners a wonderful trip!  

Many thanks to the Waring School auction committee, volunteers and donors for a magical “Night in the Black Forest.” A traditional German Oompa band welcomed 250 guests as they enjoyed authentic German sausages accompanied by locally brewed Ipswich Ale. Later in the evening, a delicious dinner of German-style salads and grilled chicken was served by students on rustic handmade wooden platters.  Dessert featured delicate meringue mushrooms and a sumptuous black forest cake drizzled with raspberry coulis.  

The gymnasium was transformed into a dark forest with tables that glowed with candlelight amidst shadows of trees and woodland mushrooms.  Guests were entertained by humorous skits performed by students depicting modern interpretations of Grimm’s fairytales. The excitement of the live auction took hold as guests bid on such fabulous items as a Scenic Flight over New England, A Sunset Party overlooking Gloucester Harbor and a vacation home in Cahors, France. We thank all of our supporters who made this year’s auction a night to remember.
